Social Lightscape Workshops. Social research in design for lighting professionals is a publication that is the result of three years of research born from the collaboration between Configuring Light/Staging the Social (an interdisciplinary research team from the London School of Economics), the Social Light Movement and iGuzzini.

From 2014 to 2017, there have been 6 international workshops that have allowed us to study a wide range of urban contexts and issues. Every step has involved design professionals, students, local actors, institutions and citizens that have explored the social spaces of the urban area by developing the most suitable intervention solutions. Starting from the principle that sociological research has to be an integral part of the urban space design process, we succeeded in defining a number of guidelines for targeting light design more accurately at the life of people and the local community.
