About Project
During Cersaie 2019, the new FAB - Fiandre Architectural Bureau was opened at Castellarano, in the province of Reggio Emilia. This showroom is designed to display the products created by the Fiandre brand that is part of the Iris Ceramica Group and stage events for sector operators and design aficionados. Fiandre entrusted the restyling project to the Iosa Ghini Associati architectural firm.
The architectural firm and the brand, worked closely together to redefine the design language for FAB and the display layout of both the indoor and outdoor spaces. This restyle was considered necessary due to the aesthetic and technical evolution of the surfaces treated by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces.
Iosa Ghini Associati divided the showroom’s indoor spaces into two large areas in line with the brand’s core products: large slab tiles and traditional-sized tiles.
The first area includes the reception hall and a bar-kitchen area with an island. This space features Fiandre’s Maximum range with large slab tiles displayed both on the walls and installed as furnishing elements. The aesthetic leitmotif chosen to mark out the display route for visitors is an attractive interweave of brushed brass tubes that connects the floor, ceiling and central volumes. System 53 was installed in this environment, as it blends in perfectly with the mesh of tubes and integrates perfectly with iN30 profiles and 10 cell Laser Blade luminaires to create general lighting. The effect is a diffuse and homogeneous light that enhances the splendour of the ceramics without creating any undesired reflections.
The second area, on the other hand, displays the design potential of traditional tile sizes through an installation inspired by the environments in a boutique hotel, including a hall, reception desk, wellness area and spa, as well as connecting areas such as the corridors leading to the rooms, the lift and stairs, a suite, study, lobby and bathroom. The furnishings in the various rooms are surfaced with Maximum slab tiles. This area is characterised by a dark ceiling featuring curved lines in which pendant Laser luminaires have been inserted that look as though they are ceiling-mounted because they are installed in the false ceiling. This solution was designed specifically to meet the requirements of this location. Inside this space which reproduces the hotel rooms and bathroom, Pixel Pro luminaires were installed to create accent lighting.
The showroom overlooks an elevated plaza measuring around 5200 m² that was previously used as a car park but has now been turned into a pedestrian area with trees and urban furniture surfaced with Fiandre ceramics. In this area a number of pole-mounted Palco InOut projectors were installed.
